I graduated from Prattville High School with honors in 2006. Because of my ACT scores and academic achievement, I was awarded five different scholarships to pay for my attendance at Auburn University Montgomery, where I majored in Chemistry and Physical Science. Those majors involved taking courses in many different types of Math, including Calculus, Algebra 3, and Statistics.
Experience
After college, I was admitted to one of the top medical schools in the country (UAB), focusing on the Optometry program. With only 15% of applicants being allowed in, this is a major academic achievement. My admittance was based on my college GPA (3.80) and an excellent score on the entrance exam. Ultimately I decided healthcare was not the direction I wanted my career to go in, but it was wonderful to have earned the opportunity through my hard work and persistence.
